Kristine Lutz, MA, LAMFT is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist offering counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. She has an Undergraduate degree in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul. Before coming to Arden Woods, Kristine worked as a Family Support Specialist providing supervised visitation and parent coaching for non-residential parents and their children. She later worked as a counselor at Children’s Residential Treatment Center offering Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for adolescents wrestling with suicidal ideation and self-harming behavior. In her graduate school training and internship experience, she focused extensively on couples therapy, leading her to find her passion for walking with couples on their healing journeys. Other therapeutic areas of interest include depression, anxiety, trauma, parent-child relationships, marital distress, and the integration of psychology and spirituality. She practices with a trauma-informed, collaborative approach, desiring to emphasize strengths while compassionately exploring wounded and wounding patterns of relating. She believes in creating a safe space to process pain while co-authoring a path toward healing.

Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.
